Friday Poll

Well, no news is bad news. Who failed to poke their voodoo doll? Who? Oh yeah, you in the corner. I see you. It's all your fault.

We didn't get into the school, although it is possible we are on a waiting list. I just don't know what place we are on it. With my luck, last. They have a "don't call us, we'll call you" thing going on, so I'll just have to wait.

As for you, do you like mini-blinds, curtains, or wood blinds?

I have cats who get curtains all furry and lets not mention the scratching temptation, and mini-blinds are usually aluminum and are very easy for kitties to bend when they "walk through" them and yes, chew on.

So for our house we go with FAUX-wood blinds. Because the real wood is more expensive and also.... fun to chew.

Sorry about the school.

Bummer about the school!

I like curtains, they are easier to clean (you can just throw them in the wash) and I think they look classier. I have never owned wood blind, so my comparison is not complete.

Lots can happen between now and the beginning of the school year. I like wood blinds, faux or otherwise. In my bedroom though, I'd love to have a heavy dark drape for mornings I want to sleep in.

Sorry about the school. As for your question, I am lucky enough that I live in such privacy that I don't need any of the above so most of my windows are bare. The girls have curtains in their rooms though, mostly to keep the light out.

I'm the one who didn't poke my voodoo doll. Must be why I feel like somebody in California is hexing me...

Mini-blinds, curtains, and wood blinds are all good. It just depends upon the location and situation.

Sorry to hear about the school. :(

As for window treatments, I prefer wood blinds, real or faux.

I'm with liz, no neighbours except the deer and coyotes, so no need for any window covering.

And blame me for the school thing.... just get to the back of the line and wait your turn :)

So sorry, but wait list is OK, it is amazing how much movement there is on wait lists...

As for window treatments, it totally depends on the room, IMHO. We are getting wood in the office (if the economy ever recovers) insulated honeycombs in the family room, and curtains in the living room. No clue on the dining room yet, I am thinking probably honeycombs as well, with a valance to hide them when they are pulled up...

Too bad about Mr P and the school. I hope he get's in next time there is a lottery.
Definately curtains. Although, I have changed my living room curtains 4 times in the last year. Ya, I have a problem.

I like the wood ones. And curtains. Sometimes curtains in front of wood blinds.

Don't give up on the school. Like I said, Maya got in at the very last minute. They do have a waiting list, because people will move, change their minds, etc., before school starts, and they need full enrollment to keep full funding. Maybe he'll still get in.
