Friday Poll

I consider myself a pretty good cook. Not the best in the world, but certainly able to whip up some tasty fare.

I love eggs, and I pride myself on my seasoning ability.

And yet, Hubba-hubba sees fit to drench my precious eggs in ketchup, thereby obliterating any seasoning efforts. I get a little cranky when this happens, and sort of rebel by not cooking eggs at all. He says I'm overreacting.

So, ketchup on eggs- tasty or revolting?

Disgusting! My husband puts ketchup on so many things, most of which make me want to gag. When I was pregnant with Harry he almost made me throw up by making a taco with ketchup. The smell was almost too vile for my tender stomach. Ketchup belongs on fries (and other similar potato products) and hamburgers. Some people might put it on hotdogs, but to me, only mustard belongs on a hotdog. Sadly my kids are more like my husband and would eat it with anything.
Ketchup has no business on eggs.

You used the perfect word for it - revolting.

Revolting.

I can't tell you how many times I've asked my husband to just taste it before he doctors up something I've cooked.

It works on a western sandwich but nowhere else.

sigh. I like eggs with ketchup or salsa. I knew I liked your husband...now I know why! I would try yours without. Cuz I like ya!

Both my Pops and Dummy do that ... it makes me gag. But I do like syrup on sausage :)

Hate to be the odd one out here, but I'm on hubba-hubba's side on this one.

Ketchup on eggs always reminds me of my late grandfather, so I'm all for it. Of course, he also ate applesauce on his cereal, which I definitely don't partake in. Nostalgia only takes you so far.

And PS, yes I'd love to meet up with you and Y--did you get my emails? Hope all is well!

My boy looooooves the ketchup on the eggs (and on pretty much anything). I think it's okay, but a little too sweet. My preference is for salsa or tabasco on eggs.MMMMMMMMMMMM!

Revolting. Actually, ketchup on anything is revolting. It's not allowed in my house eggs or no.

Hey, Hi there POW! Haven't seen you around. Do you blog since you gave up your main one? Miss you.

Eggs and ketchup? Not for me, but who am I to judge Py when he does it? He doesn't judge me when I drink diet coke with my eggs in the morning, so I think we're OK. ;)

I have ketchup with scrambled eggs, or fried eggs, but with poached eggs or boiled eggs I have marmite (which most people in the USA consider even more revolting, LOL!)

Seems to me it's a personal taste thing. One of my sons adds tabasco sauce to several dishes I cook. It's his tastebuds... and since he likes the food better with tabasco, that's OK. I can't stand it myself, but he's always liked hot and spicy food.

Life's too short to feel offended when someone adds ketchup or tabasco or anything else, IMO.

REVOLTING TO THE NTH!

Whatever floats your boat. Or your eggs. Personally, it would ruin carefully seasoned eggs for me. But if I had to make 'em for a ketchup fan, I think I would just scramble and dump 'em on the plate.

When I was a kid I would eat eggs with kechup...
My taste buds evolved...
That's all I have to say....

Perhaps not revolting, just unnecessary. The people who put hot sauce on eggs are revolting.

Ketchup on scrambled eggs only. Not on over-easies or any other kind. And I also like ketchup on macaroni and cheese. Sigh. What can I say? But never on a hotdog.
