Swiffer Me This

You know you are getting really old when this is something that excites you:

My sister told me about them, and I was skeptical. But, I just bought some at Target and I was giddy, (giddy I tell you!) at how well it cleaned the top of my kitchen cabinets.

Swiffer Extendable Handle Duster, I heart you.

Hopefully, the Swiffer Duster will allow me some extra time. You know, so I can get a life.

Thanks for the tip.

I love them too... They are great for running through the house when someone calls and says they are stopping in. I usually vacuum with mine in my hand so I can grab any dust I see.

This kind of thing gets to me too, like the Swiffer mop--boy, that's a doozy.

I have the short-handle duster, but now I'll consider the long-handled one. The tops of my kitchen cabinets are disgraceful.
Extra time...to blog?

Heidi :)

You know, I need to get some of these. I keep seeing the commercials and I never get off my lazy butt and buy them. I must try them once and for all!!!

Does it have disposable duster things, or can you wash and re-use them? I'm a little disconcerted with how many disposable things Swiffer makes - I think they should be taxed for their excessive contribution to landfill sites. (Just getting on my little soap-box here - no judgement implied :-)

I would imagine they are great for bookshelves, too. But if I ever end up dusting with Devo's "Whip It" playing in the background, just kill me.

Heather, they are disposable, and I would like it better if they were washable as well. :(

I try to use them only for things really high up, like the tops of bookshelves and cabinets so I don't use them a whole lot.

I have these too and I really like them.

People have actually knit washable covers for their floor mop swiffers. I wonder if anyone has come up with something like that for the dusters.

Wait--you clean the top of the kitchen cabinets? But no one can see up there!

Sad, but I get excited about similar things...like my nontoxic lavender and mint all purpose cleaner.

I'm a hoarder and the disposable thing makes me a little nutsy. Not because of the environment, just because if I throw it out, that's one less I have.

Yes, I have issues.

Thanks, dgm. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout. If I can't see it, I'm not dustin' it.

I guess I could have it handy for the people who really, really need to do this sort of thing.

Ok now, before everybody gets all excited, I meant the top of the door of the cabinet and between the molding. Come now, my house can't be the only one where the dust can be seen there! Or maybe it's because I have dark cabinets. I dunno.

LOL! I know how you feel, at the same time I'm getting excited about some household-y product there's a voice in the back of my head sneering "...you pathetic loser..."

I love them! But I too try to only use them for the high up places...
Honestly - I can tell you I never thought about cleaning the top of my kitchen cabinets.... sssshhhh... don't tell Mark about these things. I guarantee we would be cleaning them this weekend.
