Randomness Questions

So which is it? Out of sight-out of mind, or absence makes the heart grow fonder?

Am I the only person who has to have air constantly moving? I can't stand stuffiness.

Why are bathing suits so expensive? It's not like there's a lot of fabric going on, and I can hardly believe that the use of spandex constitutes charging 60 bucks for just a top piece.

What is it about men carrying their kids on their shoulders that never fails to make my heart melt?

Does it mean we are spoiled when we feel blase about going to Disneyland?

Why do some people at restaurants stare at the food you and your friend have just ordered? It may be because they think it looks good, but there is an unspoken time limit, people. After that, it's just rude.

What is wrong with America?

On the other hand, what's right?

Does it signal a problem when I have a hard time logging off the internet?

Wait, I don't want an answer to that one. The rest, feel free.

I also prefer moving air over stuffiness. A stuffy house makes me cranky.

Blase about Disneyland? No, you are not spoiled. I feel the same way about not always appreciating the sights in DC despite others traveling great distances to see the very things I see daily and take for granted.

Maybe the folks staring at your food are just really really hungry. Offer them a bite next time? ;)

Once some girlfriends and I were at a restaurant (it was an Italian/Irish restaurant, if you can believe such a thing), and a man was at the next table with his date. Our food came while they were deciding what to have, and he wasn't sure what to order, and liked the look of one of our dishes..he asked if it was good, and we gave him a bite. He thought that was funny and sent us all Long Island Iced Teas. Well, we were all under age and not into drinking, so we didn't have any idea what to do. Ah, good times. So we told the waitress it was our friend's birthday, and they came and sang to us and gave her a free dessert. See what you have to resort to if you live in the central valley?

I don't like Disneyland, so I'm with you on that. I lived in San Francisco for 7 years, but having come from that stupid valley, I never, never took it for granted.

Bathing suits...every year I swear I'm gonna get a new one, and every year I see how expensive they are, and decide to stick with my old one. Good thing I like the thing.

Right now I would like to try a little absence from the kids and my husband. I would be able to tell you then if it makes my heart grow fonder or not.

I'm with Suzanne. People travel from all around to come to our city just to see the civil war historical sites and visit the battlefields. When my kids realized that people actually come to our little city on vacation, they thought it was hilarious!

Isn't it absence makes the fond heart wander? Or absence makes the heart grow fungus?

I'm with you on the bathing suits. I got all excited in the store the other day because the price tag said $39.00--then I realized that was only for the top.

Oh, and I still hate the word verification.

I spend eight hours a day in front of my computer and for some reason, one of the first things I want to do when I get home is turn on my laptop! What's up with that? I have to make myself do other things first and then I "reward" myself by checking to see if I have any new comments on my blog. No judgment here, sistah!

Oh I TOTALLY hear you on the bathing suit issue. Bugs me every time! (Which is why I wear my bathing suits until all the elastic has gone out of them and I look like the saggy baggy elephant.)
