An Entry from Lady Whiner

Dearest Diary,

Today hath been especially tough. The King and Prince for whom I toil day and night hath both fallen cursed by an evil faery. The dreaded Coughing/Runny Nose/Occasional Vomiting Curse hath struck Them, and struck Them most harshly. I cannot tell who is the most petulant, the 2 year old Prince or the 34 year old King. It is quite a close contest, worthy of the finest jousters in the Kingdom. The King has also refused to stop taking his medication, claiming that it "makes him itch." Ah, the delusions can sometimes be quite entertaining...

Between bartering for cheese crackers and grapes to fill the larder, running over to Ye Olde Library to update the video collection for Their viewing pleasure, and changing vomited-upon royal bedding, I can hardly think. I had wished to get some time in on the spinning wheel for the Prince's special tag-free shirts that He insists upon, but having to hold the actual Kleenex for Him in order for Him to blow His nose was a task that was seemingly endless.

Lo, I can only get my revenge on Them in small, subtle ways. Such as taking an extra long time to get the horse saddled up for the double cheeseburger ordered by the King. And deliberately omitting the onions. Or disguising the Prince's medicine as "apple juice" and the impressionable young lad falling for it. Ha, if They only knew...

I have hope that tomorrow will be a better day in which I am free from the demands of two sick males, which is a fate less wished for than one's own self being ill. I must hie off, for it is time to fill the Royal Humidifier with the water from the "special" spring.

And will Lady Whiner's own illness, whenever it may arise, be greeted with a similar degree of servitude? Or is that just how things proceed in my house?

Meaning, of course, that this NOT how things proceed in my house.

So, basically you're saying that men and kids are whimpy sucks. Right? Now where have I heard that before? Hmmm ...

It's coast to coast.
Hope it passes you by!
