OK, So THAT Was the Flu

Something happened that has never happened before, and that is that Hubba-hubba and I got extremely sick at exactly the same time.  Usually one of us will get whatever it is first, and the other can take care of the house, kids, and the other person until they also get sick, wherein at that point, the original sick person is usually much better and can take over.

Nope, we got sick the same day, and it hit like a Mack truck.  We could do nothing but lay down for a couple of hours to work up the energy to get something for baby girl to eat or to change her, or whatever other care a typical three year old needs.  But for the most part, it was just glancing over in the haze of 102.7 fevers to make sure she was still alive.

I haven't had a fever that high in YEARS and I hope to god I don't get another for as many.  At one point, I was sticking my head out the sliding door to cool off because I was so damn hot.  Into 46 degree night weather.  And the sad part is, it didn't really do anything.

Hubba-hubba said at one point he was sure he was hallucinating, and that his eyes were exploding with fireworks.  And this is from a guy who rarely gets sick.

Well, so far 2013 has completely sucked becasue we have had so much illness.

Go away, viruses, go away already.

I am glad you are feeling better. The flu has really hit hard this year.

Holy crap! Sounds wicked. I hope all of you are totally over it soon. It should be biologically impossible for parents and kids to be sick simultaneously. Once you feel completely better, look into making this happen. ;-)

Oh no, that sucks! I remember the last time I had a bad flu...I felt like I was going to die. And the last time Ted had it bad, I was out of town and Maya was about 2, so yeah, not good. I hope you're feeling much better now.

I haven't had the flu in years, but boy that last one was SO bad that I do remember the high fever, the hallucinations, and the feeling like it wasn't going to go away. But, thankfully, it did. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Do you get flu shots?

I heard or read that the flu season is behind us, so there's that.
