Friday Poll

Today I was lying on my bed, talking on the phone. It happens a lot.

I was lying on my stomach, with my knees bent up so that my feet were in the air. I bent one of the knees down (the one which I happened to have torn an ACL fifteen years ago) and felt something go "POP" and then some pretty excruciating pain.

So imagine that, I'm lying down and I hurt my knee! Nothing noble or athletic, just my lazy ass talking on the phone and whoops, there goes the ability to walk.

I'm resting it tonight, but I'm wondering if I will need to go to the doctor's tomorrow. I've taken some Naprosyn I had from some back issues, and it seems to be working well at masking the pain. I was talking to my Dad, and he said, "Oh, it sounds to me like you did something to your meniscus. You sound like a candidate for arthroscopic surgery."

Yeah. Thanks, Dad.

How about you, what is/was your latest bodily injury?

Many things seem to happen innocently; it's just their time, I guess. For example, I once broke a tooth on a potato chip.

My latest injury was just as noble as yours. I tripped over my daughter (who stopped short in front of me and I was looking the other way) and broke my foot. Three and a half months later, I am still on the road to recovery.

Hope that your knee heels up quickly and on its own without the need for surgery!

Hmm..I guess mine would be childbirth. Does that count? Before that a broken rib from whooping cough!

Nothing glamorous, just a case of plantar fasciitis that comes and goes. It's no fun, but I've learned to live with it. It will go away when I am more diligent about stretching and massage.

Sigh.

It was a really bad charlie horse. I was limping for a good week after that one.

I hope you don't need surgery. That sucks. Mine is something going on in my arm, it's strained. I'm trying to mouse with my left hand which is just annoying. I haven't been to the dr, just masking the pain ;)

I just found out I'm in menopause and my joints are all achy. Does that count?

Ack! Poor knee! I hope it's already feeling better.

Latest injury? I guess that would be when I messed up my foot when stepping on it when it was asleep. I can't go onto my toes or really roll with a step, so that means no yoga or jogging. It's getting way frustrating.

Ouch! I'm still stuck with lingering pain in my arm. (I've got cervical neck disk degeneration disease -- or whatever the hell it's called -- and a piece of disk broke off.) Anyway, I'm old. That's my excuse. I hope you heal quickly.
lately all my injuries/pains are pregnancy related.

But, I once threw my back out and couldn't move for 2 days while brushing my hair.

I hurt my back at work. That was a long time ago. But it's been good for three surgeries so far. That's enough for one lifetime.

My last injury occured when my cat got her claw stuck in my upper eye lid. My eye was a bloody mess but luckily her claw did not get into my actual eyeball, just the lid.
Silly old cat.
