Music Monday

Wheee, my brain no longer hurts! I can lay down without feeling like there is an anvil resting on my head! Seriously, my head hurt so bad at one point that I just could not lay down any longer. It was bad.

Now, onto some groovy music! Because music makes me happy and gives me a nice little mood lift. When it's the right song, anyway. And usually, you wouldn't think that a fairly depressing song such as the next one would put me in a good mood, but it does. I seem to be a bit freakish that way, I guess.

Originally done by Tears for Fears, Mad World was featured in the movie Donnie Darko (fab!) and this remake by Gary Jules is on the soundtrack. I really like the video, it is children making moving pictures on the sidewalk. Well, you really have to watch it to appreciate....

I like both versions of the song, but I wouldn't say it makes me happy (although I'm glad it does you, and that someone has removed the acme anvil from your head). The video is very cool. I think the people look like ants, though. I find it kinda funny, kinda sad.

Mad world.

Brilliant. This is a fine example of how the virtual world shrinks the planet just a little more each time. The creativity outweighs the underlying sadness (and let's face it, it ain't all a bowl of cherries, but if we can still do stuff like this, there is hope for improvement elsewhere.) Thanks for posting that.

I love this song. It makes me want to hold my children and grandchild closer, make sure they understand that happiness is love around you, inside of you.
The video felt like it was 30 seconds long... I'm watching it again

Music to soothe the savage beastie in me.
Glad your head is better!

I like this song fine, but god, it was overplayed here, and I think I'm not quite ready to hear it...for maybe another 10 years.

OK, I take it back. While I did hear that song about as many times as a person could bear when it was popular on the radio, that video is pretty cute. I had never seen it before.

One fun thing about the song is that you can put almost anything in the lyrics, and it works.

"thinking of having mashed potatoes tonight for dinner, tonight for dinner....
Or maybe we should make some stovetop stuffing, stovetop stuffing..."

J's right, the song was really overplayed up here in NorCal. I still like it, but only in small doses -- like maybe once every 5 year. :-)

Dude, I think you're still funny when your brain hurts. But I'm glad for you it doesn't!
