Time Mis-Management

Today I was granted an extra hour.

What could I have done?

Taken a walk
Folded laundry
Done housework
Weeded my planter
Written the first chapter of the great American Novel
Baked some scones
Begun reading a new book
Learned how to knit
Played a game of chess
Washed my car
Gotten a massage

Yes, I could have pursued any of these fine, enriching activities. Well, ok, maybe some of them wouldn't necessarily be considered enriching, but I actually could have caught up a bit on things that needed to be done.

But no.

Do you know what I did with my extra hour?

I blabbed on the phone.

Actually I blabbed on the phone for an hour and a half, thus putting me at a negative half hour.

So, in the hole for a half hour already. Who says Gina doesn't know how to manage her time?

Oh, yeah.

Everybody.

But was it at least one of those long, chatty talks with a girlfriend, where you cover everything from solving the war in Irag to how to get a 10 year old to put periods after his sentences to really good books??

Pooh! Now why would you want to fold laundry when you can be having a nice chat with a friend? I thought your hour was well spent ;)

I watched an extra hour of TV with mine. ;)

I complained bitterly for an extra hour about how tired I was and how my husband owes me big time after his 10-day jaunt to England to visit family. An hour well spent.

Blabbing on the phone is a good thing though. It's fun and sometimes it can be therapeutic. You definitely need to schedule a massage the next time you have a free hour!

I wasted my hour too. I did it in drips and drabs...like this:

7:30am (real time-8:30) Crap..I can't believe I am up at 7:30!

10:30am- Gawhh I am starving and it is not even lunch time.

2:00-WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT IS ONLY 2PM?!?

It really got ugly at bed time...I can not stand these time changes...

I rarely talk on the phone, and because of this, when I do talk to a friend, we stay on for hours!

It's supposed to be this "gift" of an extra hour, but honestly, it really just screws up my body clock.

Ugh, it was the day that lasted forever. Harry crashed and burned at 5:30! At least they did not get up until &:30 this morning so that we are now back on schedule.

I would say it was an hour well spent. :)
I don't think that was a bad way to spend your extra hour...and a half...people are always more important than "things", right? :)

An hour and a half to chat on the phone with a friend sounds great!

I was just commenting to a friend about how rarely we pick up the phone these days. It's all about the IM, Blog comments and email..ok and for some phone texting.

I slept for mine. Happily!

Apparently the extra hour thing is really messing with me. Didn't go to bed until after midnight on Saturday. Apparently I wanted to actually see the change in time. Then today I was up a 5:30 AM... yes, AM. wtf.

All that awake time and you'd think my laundry would at least be done.... but noooooo.

How do you know that's what your "extra" hour was actually spent doing? I never feel like I got an extra hour. We even forgot all about it and ended up setting our clocks back the next morning, and I still didn't notice any change in time.

It sounds very well spent. Life, for me, is about having as few regrets as possible. An hour and a half letting a friend know how much you love them through the gift of gab is far better spent than laundry, which just gets dirty again.

I detest talking on the phone!

I laid on the couch and watched football all day. Equally as unproductive!

I love the "clocks back" day. It is the only day of the year that I can show my family I have the ability to drag my butt out of bed by 8am.

A massage would have been good use of your time. I slept.

Well if I had remembered to switch the clock back I would have loved to join the group that wasted that hour. Instead silly me forgot to change the time and got up at my usual time only to find out I rushed to church for nothing.
