Spring Cleaning Yet?

So I want to know:

How often do you clean your curtains?

How often do you vacuum under the beds?

Turn your mattresses?

Clean the outside of your indoor trashcans?

Dust on top of the window and door moldings?

Dust the baseboards?

Clean behind all the computer stuff?

Wash your windows?

Wipe the leaves of your indoor plants?

Reorganize and clean your medicine cabinets?

Clean your lampshades? (This question is especially for Suzanne of Suburban Lesbian)

Clean your carpets? (Beyond vacuuming, of course)

Clean out your dryer vent?

I am asking because I am curious to see how everyone stacks up against the magazines and their "to do" lists for srpring cleaning.

I mean, it can't be just me that stares blankly and strains to remember the last time some of these tasks were accomplished?

OK, here goes:

How often do you clean your curtains? Haven't done it yet...have had them for about 3 years.

How often do you vacuum under the beds? Whenever we get new beds, or new carpets, or if the dust is REALLY buggin' the allergies in our house. Not often.

Turn your mattresses? Pillowtop, so no turning.

Clean the outside of your indoor trashcans? What? no.

Dust on top of the window and door moldings? When I notice that they need it. NOT OFTEN.

Dust the baseboards? Just did this the other day, but they were bad.

Clean behind all the computer stuff? Every month or so?

Wash your windows? Twice a year, maybe?

Wipe the leaves of your indoor plants? Don't have any, believe it or not.

Reorganize and clean your medicine cabinets? Every couple of years.

Clean your lampshades? Dust them when I dust the other stuff, but not too often.

Clean your carpets? Whenever the dog barfs on them, with the carpet cleaner. Paying someone? Every year or two.

Clean out your dryer vent?
The lint trap? Every load. More than that? I don't even know what you mean.

I suspect all of this adds up to me being a slob. But I already knew that. I need a maid, apparantly.

None of these tasks sound familiar.

Oh, wait, I washed my curtains about a year ago.

Since I have a waterbed, I can't flip it or vacuum under it. I can't remember when I did any of the other things.

But when I get in a cleaning mood, I get more thorough. Clearly, that's not very often!

Almost never to ALL of the above. I'm afraid of housework. It gives me the hives.

Those types of chores get done when (a) I actually notice they need to be done, and (b) I feel motivated to accomplish them.

In other words, not very often.

Magazines provide checklists for spring cleaning? And you read them? Do you find them inspirational?

Admittedly, cleaning is not my strong suit. My bar has always been that my house is clean enough not to be embarrassing should someone visit.

The concept of Spring, or Fall Cleaning for that matter, eludes me.

How often do you clean your curtains? Never because we have only mini blinds and those get cleaned maybe once a year.

How often do you vacuum under the beds? When we move

Turn your mattresses? We have a pillow top so we don't need to turn it.

Clean the outside of your indoor trashcans? When I notice that it looks dirty.

Dust on top of the window and door moldings? Rarely. Usually when we move.

Dust the baseboards? When we move or if I notice that they are filthy.

Clean behind all the computer stuff? Every few months. I spend a fair bit of time in front of my computer so I notice the dust more.

Wash your windows? When I can't see outside becasue my son has put his dirty hands on the window.

Wipe the leaves of your indoor plants? Never

Reorganize and clean your medicine cabinets? Every few years, I actually just did this in fact and I got rid of a ton of expired medicines.

Clean your lampshades? hardly ever

Clean your carpets? umm about once a year now that we have kids

Clean out your dryer vent? We haven't at this house yet but we probably should
