Party Poopers!

So the party went off without much of a hitch, thanks to my Association President, who was willing to cancel her date and stay with the plumber until 1030pm on Saturday night. I think I need to send her a nice card, don't you?

Anyhoo, I have a question that is just torturing me after yesterday, and I just have to ask it....

How long do you stay at a party?

I mean, if you are invited to the birthday party of a good adult friend, how much time do you allot to spend there? 3 hours? 4 hours? Perhaps 5?

I am dying to know and will explain a bit later.

I alot 2 hours, generally. If I know dinner (or some other meal) will be served, then probably 3. If I'm having a good time, though, I'll stay until they kick me out the door.

I stay until I feel ready to leave. If it is a good party, I stay longer than if it is a dull one.

Now don't keep us waiting. Why the question?

I don't really allot a specific time. Some parties last longer than others, and I guess if I'm having fun, I stay longer. I would generally expect to be at a party for at very least 2 hours. Daytime parties I guess I expect to be shorter than evening parties.

So what happened??
And is this your last party for awhile?

Hmm. It depends on whose party it is, who else I know there, what time of day, et cetera. If it's someone in my husband's family, I know that we are doomed to be among the last to leave because no one in that family knows how to say goodbye in less than an hour. For someone who isn't especially sociable, this can be excruciating.

Can't wait to hear why you want to know!

If it's a good adult friend we'll stay for as long as we feel comfortable and if they think we shouldn't drive we spend the night and stay for breakfast.

So I guess 15 hours would be our limit.

Yep, 15 hours sounds good to me too, but not 16, that is far too long.

Ok now tell us,why do you want to know?

My husband always wants to leave early, but I'd say 3-4 hours tops. (He'd say an hour!)
